I usually have a couple of projects on the go at any one time. This weekend is no different, apart from checking on the stones in the tumbler I have a pot waiting to be grouted. I different shaped cat to start covering with tessera, in fact 2 of them. One I will finish in the odd shaped pieces of tessera left over from projects. Cutting square tessera generates a lot of waste pieces and I don't like wasting it. The multi coloured projects are OK. Anyway back to the second cat, that one I'll do with various greys I have collected. It will be a reflection of Thor my cat.
Another project I have started is weekend is a bowling ball on a pedestal. It will be something to remember a friend and colleague who we lost so tragically to the horrible C word.
I will post pictures when its finished but for now I'll post the photos I have taken of the raw products I'll be working with. The cats are on a Hebble base which I carved. This product I like very much as a base. It's easy to work with as it is reasonably light and simple to carve into the shapes I want. It is also stable unlike wood for outside use. Thanks to Zorite Blenheim for the off cuts.
The last photo is the beautiful autumn colours of the smoke bush with the bird feeder hanging in it.
